Highland got the win over in-town rival Gilbert Thursday afternoon with some solid pitching and good overall hitting.
The Hawks tallied 12 total hits, let primarily by Chris Coyer, Aaron Alder, and Cooper Brown.
Chris went 4-4 with a triple, 2 R, and 2 RBI. Aaron went 2-4 with an RBI and a SB. Cooper went 2-3 with 1 R, 1 walk, and 1 SB as well.
Clayton Turley got the start and gave up one earned run off of a walk as the first batter of the game, but was lights out after. When it was all said and done, he went 5 innings giving up just the 1 ER on 2 hits, walked 4, while striking out 3.
Aaron Alder then pitched 1 scoreless inning, giving up 1 hit and striking out 1.
Adam Karaffa finished the game off, pitching the last scoreless inning, allowing 2 hits while walking 1.
